Several Cabinet Secretaries have announced a series of fresh appointments and reappointments across government agencies in the health, education, labour, maritime, water and regional development sectors. In a Gazette Notice dated June 5, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Khatra Ali Abdi and Dr. Angeline Chepchirchir as members of the Social Health Authority Board for a three-year term. “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (1) of the Social Health Insurance Act, as read with section 51 (1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Health appoints– Under subsection (e)— Khatra Ali Abdi, Under subsection (f)— Angeline Chepchirchir (Dr.), to be Members of the Social Health Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 5th June, 2026,” the notice stated. According to the CS, the appointments replace earlier appointments made under Gazette Notices in 2025. Under regional development, CS Beatrice Askul Moe announced several reappointments to the Kerio Valley Development Authority Board for a one-year term. Those reappointed include Justina Chepnyango, Reuben Chepsongol, Rosemary Nchinyei Parengiro, Christine Jepkoech, John Lanyasunya, Shadrack Kiptugen and Simon Kalekem. The Education Ministry also re-appointed Aden Sugow Ahmed, Lina Adikento Marleni and Melus Lodungokiok as members of the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin Development Authority for a one-year term. According to the official Gazette Notices, the above appointments formally took effect on June 5 . In the labour sector, CS Alfred Mutua re-appointed Samuel Biringi Mayaka as a member of the National Industrial Training Board for three years effective from June 9. Set to take effect on the same date, Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Eric Muriithi Mugaa re-appointed Mbarak Hamid to the Board of Directors of the Coast Water Works Development Agency for a three-year term.
