by Rene Otinga on Monday, 27 April 2026 – 7:50 am CCTV Footage shows the final moments of Consolata Githinji, who fell from the 6th floor of a building. Citizen Digital Harrowing CCTV footage has revealed the final moments of a 22-year-old woman, who plummeted to her death from the 6th floor of an apartment in Kileleshwa. Detectives say the victim, identified as Consolata Githinji, fell from the balcony of the apartment where she had gone alongside a 33-year-old man in the wee hours of Sunday, April 26. Surveillance footage has since been made public, offering critical leads on what might have transpired, leading to the victim’s death. The footage, which is now under review, begins at 4:11am on Saturday night, showing a guard making his rounds within the apartment complex before the pair arrived. Six minutes later, at around 4:17 am, Consolata is seen arriving at the building alongside the man, who is considered a person of interest. A police car at a crime scene in Kenya. At 4:18am, the same guard is captured helping the pair unlock a keybox believed to contain the apartment keys. After gaining access, the two proceed into the apartment located on the sixth floor. Additional footage further showed that between 5:56pm and 3:57am, two women and a man had checked into the same room before the incident. At around 4:32 am, CCTV footage shows shadows near the apartment doorway, suggesting there may have been a commotion inside the unit , moments before the fatal incident. Two minutes later, at 4:34 am, the same guard is seen entering the apartment, with investigators now trying to establish what prompted his intervention and what he found inside. At 4:43am, the guard steps out of the apartment and lingers briefly outside the door before walking away, leaving more unanswered questions about the sequence of events inside. At 4:46am, he returns briefly to the apartment for a final time. According to investigators, this was the last moment Consolata was seen alive before she allegedly fell from the building. Nearly two hours later, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrived at the scene and began processing the apartment, taking photographs and documenting the area as part of the probe. In his statement to police, the man who had accompanied Consolata claimed he found her standing on the bedroom window moments before she jumped. “When I got there, she was standing on the bedroom window. By the time I reacted, she jumped, I could not save the situation,” the suspect told investigators. Authorities have since established that the apartment had not been booked directly by the 33-year-old suspect, raising further questions about the nature of the visit. Police are now working to verify his account against the CCTV footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence from the scene as they seek to determine the exact cause of Consolata’s death.
